There are many transformers made and used for a multitude
of jobs. They can be used for control, isolation, boosting, power
and much more. Transformers can come in all shapes and sizes,
from the very small to the very large oil filled. The most common
type is taking one voltage and transforming it to another voltage at
a certain level of current. Some are wired so you can have multiple
voltage level options, from a single input level voltage.
Talk to our sales staff about your transformer needs; we just ask to
have some idea of what you want and what load is going to be felt.
Here are some suggested notes to take first.
1) What is the primary voltage or input voltage that is going to be
transformed?
2) What is the secondary voltage or output voltage after transformation?
3) What load or current demand will you have to have? This is known as
Voltage Amps (va). It can be written as VA or KVA on the label.
4) Will you need input / output fuse protection?
